Audition Time for "Ghost Stories!"
While we are known as Summer Place Theatre, we do have a few performances after summer has ended. Ghost Stories in the Park...In the Dark! is a favorite fall event that we produce in cooperation with the Naperville Park District. Storyteller auditions are scheduled for August 27 -- Is this the perfect vehicle for your talents?
We're looking for folks who can engage an audience with their storytelling and that can be anyone aged 16 to 106. Prepare a short ghost story (about one to two minutes) before audition day and then come and scare the bejeebers out of us!
Auditions will be held from 1:00p until 4:00p on Saturday, August 27, in the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 Jackson Ave, Naperville. You don't need to schedule an audition time -- just come on over. If you have a video of yourself telling a story, you can email that to us instead at info@summerplacetheatre.org.
Performances are held outdoors in the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion where it's nice and dark in the park. Please bring any date conflicts. We try to be flexible, but working around conflicts will be at the discretion of the director. For additional show details see our Ghost Stories page.
Show dates are:
Friday, Oct. 7 7:00p-8:00p (G show)
Saturday, Oct. 8 6:00p-7:00p (G show)

Saturday, Oct. 15 8:00p-9:00p (PG show)
Sunday, Oct. 16 7:00p-8:00p (PG show)
This is an ensemble show with several storytellers telling one or more stories. We have a repertory of stories to draw on if you don't know more than your audition piece and we're happy to work with you to polish your performance. We require little in the way of rehearsal time. For a look at some past performances, take a look at "Tailypo" and "Regarding Your Brains."
Ghost Stories is fun, out-of-the-ordinary theatrical experience with a limited time commitment. We look forward to seeing you at audttions!
