South Pacific Profile: Ramona Ory is a Summer Place Theatre veteran and member of the Board of Directors
Ramona Ory is a Summer Place Theatre veteran, having last been seen in multiple roles last summer in Sugar - The Some Like It Hot Musical. She is now a member of the Board of Directors and has been an integral part of organizing and preparing props for this summer’s productions.
Ramona joins an experienced and talented cast celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Rodgers & Hammerstein’s great American musical theater classic. Ramona shared her thoughts on being part of this special group of actors.

QUESTION: Who or what inspired you to start doing theater?
RAMONA ORY: My first music teacher was John Peace at NCHS in the 70's. He was a perfectionist but we always had fun with him.
Q: What was the musical that had you fall in love with musicals?
RO: The Music Man is my favorite show.
Q: What is the favorite role(s) you've ever played?
RO: In the Music Man I was assigned a lot of different roles so I had a lot of costume changes, l loved being a Pick-A Lady, it was a lot of fun!
Q: What is the dream role you still want to play?
RO: I would love to be a nun in The Sound of Music!
Q: Do you have any performance superstitions?
RO: I always wear a special piece of personal jewelry on stage.
Q: If someone was going to make your life into a movie, who would you want to play you?
RO: I would love Marlo Thomas to represent me.
Q: What do you do when you’re not doing theater?
RO: When I am not on stage, I am The Head Dental Assistant for Dentistry for all Ages, at Alexian Brothers Hospital.
Q: Which character from South Pacific would you most like to have dinner with and why?
RO: I would love to have dinner with Billis, because he has so many stories to tell and I love his smile.
Q: Why should people come see this production of South Pacific?
RO: People will enjoy seeing South Pacific because we have an enthusiastic cast and great music!
