South Pacific: Summer Place Theater will begin the 2019 season with Rodgers and Hammerstein's World War II epic which combines several elements of James Michener’s Pulitzer Prize-winning collection of stories, Tales of the South Pacific. With one of Broadway’s most beautiful and endearing scores filled with some of the most popular tunes in musical theater history, and covering themes that touch on some of the most important cultural topics that are as relevant today as they were when the musical opened in 1949, South Pacific remains a true American classic.
-
My Three Angels: Based on the French play La Cuisine Des Anges, this uproarious comedy tells the story of three convicts in the tropical prison colony of Cayenne who are employed as roofers and run into trouble on Christmas Eve. Possessing every criminal art and penal grace, the three prisoners try to set matters right in this captivating and comedic treasure. A film version titled We’re No Angels in 1955 starred Humphrey Bogart and Peter Ustinov .
-
Secret Surprise Musical: Production rights prevent the revelation of Summer Place’s final show of 2019 until April 1. In fact, we invite the community to guess what musical it is for a chance to win free tickets! This recent Broadway hit fits in with our theme and is full of popular sing-a-long hits the whole family will love!
