Summer Place Theater Board Adds New Members
Naperville’s community theater re-elected officers for two-year term
Summer Place Theater in Naperville has added two new members to the board or directors and re-elected the board’s officers for a two-year term taking them through the 2020 season. Steve Koek and Ramona Ory are the latest additions to the community theater company in Chicago’s western suburbs. The board also unanimously approved a second term for all four officers - President Don Gingold, Vice-President Emma Gingold, Secretary Sabrina Zeidler, and treasurer Jeff Sand. Rounding out a talented group of theater production veterans as board members-at-large include Steve Zeidler, Ted Waltmire, Cynthia Lauren-Grant, and Susan Vulich.
Koek and Ory were castmates in last summer’s production of Sugar: The Some Like It Hot Musical, and bring experience and energy to an already seasoned board of directors. Koek made a return to the stage for the first time in 37 years after an acting hiatus that lasted since high school. He appeared as Bienstock in Sugar and went on to portray Uncle Wes in Footloose later in the summer. Sugar was Ory’s second Summer Place Theater production after appearing Music Man in 2016.
After a hugely successful 2018 season, Summer Place Theater will be back in 2019 with three spectacular productions to be announced on December 1, 2018, featuring two musicals and one comedic straight play. Koek will be producing one of the musicals. Ory will be working assisting box office and house administration duties.
