Ted and Tina Talk on WGN
Summer Place visits Dave Hoekstra's Nocturnal Journal
Dave Hoekstra, host of the Nocturnal Journal radio show on Saturday nights on WGN, invited his high school chum and Summer Place alum Tina St Angelo to visit him in the WGN studios in downtown Chicago for a fun discussion of our current production Bleacher Bums as well as the history of Summer Place. Who better to talk about the history of Summer Place than historian Ted Waltmire, so he went along.
We recorded the discussion for your enjoyment. Take a listen.
Here are a few highlights.
First, Dave and Tina both went to Naperville Central, so Dave was interested because of the relation to his old stomping grounds. Summer Place has called the NCHS Auditorium home since 1993.
They talk about Bleacher Bums, and how Ted sang the 7th inning stretch on opening night. Dates and times and other specifics followed.
They talk about Jim Belushi. Did you know he's a Summer Place alum? Did you know he was fired? Take a listen!
There's more about our history, where we've performed, what shows we've performed and what audience we cater to.
It's a short, fun listen. Enjoy! And thanks Ted and Tina for traveling downtown to visit with Dave.
And tune into Nocturnal Journal with Dave Hoekstra Saturdays on WGN Radio.
