Calling all actors! Summer Place Theatre announces auditions fo West Side Story.

Monday, May 13 auditions will be held at Rubin Center (305 W  Jackson Ave, Naperville, IL) from 6 to 9 pm. Tuesday, May 14 auditions and callbacks will be held at Fort Hill Activity Center (20 Fort Hill Dr, Naperville, IL) from 6 to 9 pm. Callbacks are invitation only and will be held Thursday, May 16 from 6 to 9 pm. Sign up below for your time slot. Director Mike Frale, music director Kitty Karn, choreographer Maddie Shelton and fight choreographer Andrew Trygstad will be casting 20 male identifying actors and 14 female identifying actors. All auditionees must be at least 17 years of age.

The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic has some of the best loved songs in the world. You've sung them sometime in your life; who hasn't? Now you have a chance to sing it again at an invitation-only, red carpet gala at the Hollywood Palms.

Our own Summer Place member, Ted Waltmire, playwright, musician, and actor, will be discussing the original 1959 stage musical, “The Sound of Music," at Nichols Library on Monday, May 23, starting at 7:00pm.

After a week-long virtual Kids Camp and still no live theatre on the horizon, it's clear that our adult community members need some way to keep their skills polished too. That's why we've asked our Kids Camp instructors to come back and share their expertise with a grown-up audience!

Calling all children, teens, and young adults who are beginners to theatre! Summer Place Theatre is kicking off a virtual summer season with a Zoom kids camp, which will include a variety of engaging and informative classes led by some of the best talents in Naperville.

Looking to up your storytelling game? Then this invitation is for you!

Learn proper story preparation, speaking, breathing and gesturing tips and specific microphone techniques during this two-hour workship. Then practice what you've learned by telling a story in front of your classmates. 

Come jingle with us at the mall this Monday, December 18! Our show starts at 8:00 and we're one of a number of acts performing there. 

"Summer Load-in, Had me a blast!" Danny Zuko or not, you too can be singing that after Saturday! Help us move all our #$!@!! from our winter storage facility to our summer home, Naperville Central High School Auditorium.
