This very funny comedy began as a novel by Edward Streeter and became a film starring Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor. Steve Martin and Diane Keaton did a reboot of the story, but we're performing the original. The Father of the Bride is Mr. Banks, whose daughter Kay suddenly drops the news that she is engaged. Of course, the whole family agrees it will be a simple, small, modest wedding. But Mrs. Banks is sure she can sneak in just a few more of her friends. The oldest son, Ben, is sure no one will mind if he invites a few people. Even little Tommy Banks wonders why he doesn't have a say in who can come. Before long, the "small" wedding has gotten completely out of control, causing no shortage of hilarious consequences for poor Mr. Banks. The ups and downs of planning a modern wedding have never been funnier as they are captured by Streeter. Directed by David Belew. Produced by Susan Vulich.
