Roles Still Available in Father of the Bride

2 teen, 3 adult males needed

Alright, males of the species! We know you're out there! Rehearsals start next week and these are fun, easy roles to fill. C'mon audition!

Caroline Francke's very funny play Father of the Bride is a situation comedy taking place in the weeks before a family wedding with lots of family banter and funny sight gags.

The family banter involves the Banks family and their sons Ben and Tommy. Ben has been cast (Matthew Schufreider) but we still need a Tommy. On stage he should appear to be a 15 year old boy. His school pal Buzz drops in and has some fun lines. We need that young actor too.

Part of the sight gags involve getting the family home ready for the wedding and integral to that bit of comedy is Joe and his movers Red and Pete. Those three roles are still up for grabs. We're looking for men anywhere from 20-70 (a big range) to play these parts.

Rehearsals begin on May 30th for 4 performances during the July 7th weekend. Rehearsals are scheduled 4 days a week but involve certain scenes so your schedule might have fewer days. Our director, David Belew, is very considerate of his actor's time. This is a nice, quick, short commitment for actors in the Naperville area.

If you know somebody that loves to act on stage, or somebody that's always wanted to do it or get back to it, please let them know of this opportunity.

If you are that person, email fatherofthebride@summerplacetheatre.org and we'll arrange an audition. It might be as simple as a quick video of you doing a monologue. Remember, time's a wastin'!
