New Season -- New Ticketing System!
With the beginning of Summer Place Theatre’s second fifty years, we are upgrading our ticketing system and want to give you a little preview of how it works.
We’re using a system called Tix.com that will help us streamline our scheduling and bookkeeping and will also give us great data that we can use to improve our programming and marketing. With Tix.com, you can purchase tickets online from your home or office, but yes, if you prefer, you can still also purchase tickets at the door or over the phone.
When you go to Tix.com online, you will choose which performance you want to attend, the type of ticket you wish to purchase (Adult, Senior, Student or Child) and how many you need of each. You will be asked to create an account with your email address and password which will ensure that if there is ever a hiccup, your purchase history can be retrieved to fix any problems. Payment is made by American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa and your receipt will be emailed to you.
Your tickets are immediately issued. Either print the page right away to bring to the theatre or show the page on your smart phone when you arrive. You won’t need to stop at the Will Call window to exchange for tickets – that is your actual ticket. Just take the printed page or the phone screen to the door and show it to the usher.
One usher at every door will be available to scan your ticket with their smart phone. The second usher can help you with anything else you might need such as a program, directions to the rest room or assistance with the elevator.
We’re really looking forward to making things easier on our box office team, but we realize everything new takes some getting used to. We started practicing with the system even before the beginning of the season, but we ask for your patience with our volunteer ushers. Thank you for your understanding and we’ll see you at the show!
For more information on how the new Tix.com system works, we have recorded a video (see below) that walks through the process. Please take a look and if you have any further questions, just send us a quick email and we’ll be happy to help you.
