Jesus Christ Superstar cast generates some buzz with preview performance

St. John the Baptist School of Winfield welcomed Summer Place's Jesus Christ Superstar cast last night at their performance of Beauty and the Beast, Jr. Aaron Mitchell Reese, who plays Judas, burst into his rendition of "Heaven on their Minds" before being joined on stage by Eric Downs (Jesus), Laura Curran (Mary), Will Lipchik (Simon), Kevin Gum (Peter), and part of the ensemble to sing more Superstar favorites. The spotlight may have been too bright for our camera, but the audience had a clear view of ensemble members Eunice Ayodele, Tina Boffa, Kathleen Boyle, Abi Bradshaw, Mary Carter, Megan Conrad, Mariangela Guglielmo, Marty Kaspar, and Chris Knight. Eunice, Abi, and Megan were the featured Soul Girls.

Many thanks to St. John the Baptist School for allowing our cast to warm up their audience, and for inviting us to stay and watch the show. We had a great time! Beauty and the Beast, Jr. has one more performance tonight, May 14, at 7:00pm at St. Francis High School on Roosevelt Road in Wheaton. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Kids 3 and under are free.
