Director's ambitious choreo gives disco musical a leg up

Chicago-area choreographer Samantha Sieghart’s name has appeared in playbills all over the ‘burbs. You may have seen her dance moves in the regional premier of The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Natural Talent Productions in St. Charles. She created movement for the Chicago premier of Helvetica at Death & Pretzels in the city. She is also a veteran stage actor and singer. But Sam’s newest project is also her newest role: she is both choreographing and directing Mamma Mia! at Summer Place Theatre.

What do Marie Groh and Meryl Streep have in common? They're both Donna, the leader of the Dynamos, in Mamma Mia! Our Donna holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theatre from Millikin University, teaches voice lessons, directs musicals, and has performed in and around the Chicago area for 20 years.

Dan is making his Summer Place Theatre debut as a member of the ensemble in our Mamma Mia! Dan graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2010 and has worked on many shows, like Bye Bye Birdie, The King and I, and The Good Doctor. When he's not attending community theatre performances or festivals, listening to live music, and enjoying a good museum, Dan drives a truck and is involved in the sale and distribution of industrial footwear.

During her 40 years in the theatre, Terri has been seen on stage as Fanny Brice, Mama Rose, Marion Paroo, Marmee, Annie Oakley and Miss Hannigan. This summer, she's our Tanya in Mamma Mia! She has worked with theatres from Wheaton to Dixon and was honored in 2014 to be a SCOTY Award recipient from Stage Coach Players in DeKalb.

Maria is making her debut at Summer Place Theatre as Lisa in our production of Mamma Mia! Maria is a Junior at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts studying Musical Theatre. Previous credits include Leading Player (Pippin), Diana Goodman (Next to Normal), and Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd).
