Ushers needed for The Sound of Music: see the show for free!
Our volunteers get to enjoy the show for free as a thank you for assisting our patrons
The perennial classic The Sound of Music has delighted audiences since it debuted on Broadway in 1959. Summer Place Theatre is thrilled to produce this heartwarming musical in its original state, which includes songs you didn't hear in the Julie Andrews film--as well as bringing the sinister political unrest of 1930s Austria to the front of the stage. The show will be performed for three weekends. Here's how you can see it for free!
Usher: Greet our patrons at the theatre door by scanning their electronic ticket and handing them a program. Assist guests with the elevator and point out the restrooms. If assigned, sell concessions during intermission. Ushers should wear black slacks or skirt and a white shirt or blouse. Arrive one hour before curtain for training (6:30 on Fridays or Saturdays, 2:00 on Sundays). No experience necessary! Open to theatre lovers 13 and older.
Box Office volunteer: Work with the Box Office Manager to assist patrons with new ticket sales or look up pre-sale orders. Box Office volunteers should wear black slacks or skirt and a white shirt or blouse. Arrive 90 minutes before curtain for training (6:00pm on Fridays or Saturdays, 1:30pm on Sundays). Some experience handling cash preferred. Open to volunteers 18 and older.
All our volunteers get to enjoy the show for free! Volunteers should expect to assist patrons before the show and during intermission, after which their duties are complete.
Performances are at the Naperville Central High School auditorium, 440 W Aurora Ave in Naperville. The auditorium parking lot is located at the corner of Aurora Ave and West St.
