Ted Talks Mightily

Learn the origin story of our upcoming Show "The Mighty Ted"

I stopped by Ted's place and we talked about his many years at Summer Place, his love of theatre, his stroke and its aftermath, and of course, how The Mighty Ted came to be.

A centerpiece of the living area at Ted's home is the piano. I'm sure there's been many a sing-along around it, since Ted is a walking encyclopedia of show tunes. Since the stroke and loss of use of his left arm, he can't play it as he used to, but the piano remains, very much a testament to Ted's determination to keep working to towards a day when he can.

So fittingly, I asked Ted to sit at the piano while I stood alongside and we had a nice chat.

The Mighty Ted opens for 1 weekend only on Friday, August 20, at 7pm, at the 95th Street Community Plaza Wagner Pavilion. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors, students and children. Grab your tickets online now.

Group purchases will save some money. We take 20% off the price for groups of 15 or more, and we have an additional bonus for senior homes, so don't use the online system; write us at boxoffice@summerplacetheatre.org or call 630-355-7969 and leave a message so we can get your group processed.
