< Return to List of Past Shows Don Gingold / Saturday, April 8, 2017 / Categories: Volunteers, News Join the Play Selection Committee Help Bring Great Entertainment to our Community! Event date: 4/11/2017 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM Export event Our Play Selection Committee reports to our Board of Directors the ideas that ultimately become our season of plays and musicals. If you enjoy theatre, whether from the stage, the wings, or the balcony, we need you! Join us Tuesday, April 11 for our next Play Selection Committee meeting. We'll be reviewing "Abraham Lincoln in Illinois" and talking about other plays. Why "Abe"? Because next year, 2018, is Illinois' 200th anniversary, and we thought plays revolving around Illinois would be a good theme for our 2018 season. We looked into "Abe", got a copy of the script, and we're planning to review it. What's a review? It's a fun time! We put the script up on the wall via projector, we pick parts and read it together. We discuss the characters, the plot, how it appeals to us, and ultimately gain consensus if we'd like to perform it. Our Board of Directors chooses the plays for a particular season but it's a big job to screen them, so we have the Play Selection Committee help us. Some of our Board members attend the meetings, and we look to the community to help. We'll be meeting Tuesday, April 11 at 7:00pm at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center on Eagle and Jackson in Room 201. PLEASE VISIT OUR FACEBOOK EVENT TO RSVP. We'd like to know how many to expect. Print 1054 More links RSVP on FaceBook < Return to List of Past Shows
