BIOGRAPHIES

Mary Anne Bratek (Poppy) Mary Anne received her Bachelor's degree in Theatre from Western Illinois University. She has appeared at The Summer Place once before in 1977's "Caught In The Villain's Web". Mary Anne returns to Naperville after living in Los Angeles for several years and appearing in various theatrical productions.

Sheri Davis (Dotty/Mrs. Clackett) Sheri has worked as an actor, director, choreographer and other various roles in local community groups for over ten years. Sheri currently serves as President of The Summer Place Board. Recent roles include, Kate in "Other People's Money" with Summer Place, Kate Keller in Tempo Players production of "The Miracle Worker" and Vinnie in "Life With Father" for Community Players. Sheri lives in Naperville with her husband, Dan and her sons Brad and Colin, who like to be mentioned in the program.

Mark R. Fay (Tim Allgood) Mark is thrilled to be a member of such a talented cast especially in Summer Place's premier indoor performance. Mark has been active with Summer Place since they performed in the tent. Last summer we saw Mark in both "Rumors" and "Big River". Some of his favorite roles include, Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar", Harold Hill in "The Music Man" and Oscar in "The Odd Couple".

Mark Furlong (Garry/Roger) "Noises Off" is Mark's fourth appearance with The Summer Place. He has appeared previously as the evil, but stupid, Owen Musser in "The Foreigner" and as the impatient Yankees fan, Juror #7, in "Twelve Angry Men" this past February. Other theatre credits include, Charlie in "The Foreigner" with Tempo Players and McMurphy in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest", Virgil in "Bus Stop" and a storyteller in "Autumn Stories" at the now defunct Ad Hoc Theatre, where he also directed "Bleacher Bums". He has appeared extensively with the Albright Theatre and in mysteries with The Mystery Shop. Mark is a products trader for Amoco Oil Company in downtown Chicago.

Gary Hernandez (Philip/Fredrick) "Noises Off" marks Gary's debut with The Summer Place. Some of his previous acting credits include, "Streetcar Named Desire" and "Harvey". Gary hopes to become a professional actor through hard work and determination. Gary loves rehearsals, auditions and performing in the finished product. He hopes his love for this art comes out in his performances.

Tamara A. Mefford (Brooke/Vicki) Tamara is returning to The Summer Place after her first appearance as Shelby in "Steel Magnolias". She is putting her B.A. in Acting/Directing to good use by "acting" as the Systems Administrator for a computer supply company in Geneva. Prior to this, she bartended in Chicago while making the talent agency rounds, until she decided she'd rather eat. She loves having the opportunity to work with Summer Place again.

Roger Place (Selsdon Mowbray/Burglar) Roger first appearance on the Summer Place stage was in 1972 as Barney Cashman in "The Last Of The Red Hot Lovers". Since then he has been seen as Felix Unger in "The Odd Couple", Bob McKelleway in "Mary, Mary", The King in "The King And I" and Omar in "Kismet". Some of Roger's directing credits include "Fashion", "God's Favorite", "Our Town", "Same Time Next Year" and "Big River". Roger, his wife Sharon, and their daughters Jennifer and Susan managed the Summer Place theatre operation in the summers of 1987 and 1988. Off stage, Roger works for Bellcore as a training technologist. He is pleased, after 32 years, to being directed by Doc once again.

Marilyn Rockstroh (Belinda/Flavia) Marilyn's most recent role at The Summer Place was Elsa Von Grossknuten in "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940". She has also performed extensively with Stage Company in Aurora and Aurora Theatre Ensemble, where her favorite roles include Lenny in "Crimes Of The Heart", Anne in "6 Rms Riv Vu", Mary in "Mary, Mary" and Fairy May in "The Curious Savage". Marilyn has just finished a run as Claire in "Rumors" with the Valley View Theatre Guild. A speech and language pathologist with West Aurora public schools, Marilyn also performs with The Mystery Shop.

Thomas Ulbrich (Lloyd Dallas) "Noises Off" marks Tom's debut with The Summer Place. While no stranger to Fox Valley theatre, Tom has seen in such productions as "Cheaper By The Dozen", "Catch-22" and "Godspell". For the past fifteen years, Tom has been the director of theatre at Naperville Central High School.

Dr. Donald Shanower (Director) "Doc" is one of the founders of The Summer Place and this season marks the 27th year of his involvement in producing plays for the organization. During that period of time he has directed 38 of the 140 total productions since 1967. That is a lot of time, effort and dedication given to such a venture. Literally, hundreds of individuals have contributed their time, talent and energy, as actors and technicians to make Summer Place an important and contributive force to the cultural life of this community. Doc is Professor Emeritus of Theatre and Speech at North Central College, where he gave more than 30 years of service. He, annually, looks forward to an assignment working with the staff of The Summer Place.

Shannon L. Juzwiak (Assistant Director/Stage Manager) Shannon is a graduate of North Central College, where she received a B.A. in Speech Communications and Theatre. She most recently appeared as Sister Mary Amnesia in "Nunsense" and was delighted to have been a part of Summer Place's final pavilion performance of "Big River" last year. Shannon is currently preparing for Wheaton Park District's production of "Grease" which she is co-directing and choreographing. She is extremely grateful to be working with Doc and such a wonderful cast.
