Profiles

Amanda Allen (Little Girl/Ensemble) Amanda likes school and will be in 6th grade at Washington Jr. High. She likes to be in plays and is happy to make her first appearance at The Summer Place.

Emily Allen (Ensemble) Emily has enjoyed being in her first play. She will be in 2nd grade at Prairie School. She loves to sing and read.

Kristin Anderson (Annie Oakley) Kristin is thrilled to be making her Summer Place debut. Her previous roles include Laurie in Oklahoma! Mame in Mame, Godspell singing Day by Day and Louisa in the Fantasticks. Kristin's most famous role is Queen of the Night in the Anderson household!

Cal Armistead (Mrs. Shuyler Adams/Ensemble) Cal is thoroughly enjoying her first Summer Place production-turned-family-project. Most recently, Cal has played the role of Lois/Bianca in the Community Players' production of Kiss Me Kate. Cal is a freelance writer/voice-over actress/and mom.

Cori Armistead (Ensemble) Cori, age 7, sings in church choir, but is more likely to be found hot-dogging it down the soccer field or shooting hoops in the driveway. She also enjoys drawing, swimming, and collecting beanie babies.

Nicolle Armistead (Ensemble) Nicolle, age 10, plays piano, sings in choir, and has appeared in the Community Players' The Dining Room in 1995. When not indulging in the arts, Nicolle enjoys computer games, reading, horseback riding and swim team.

Tedford Armistead (Frank Butler) Tedford is excited to be working in his second show with The Summer Place, having appeared in last summer's Guys and Dolls as Sky Masterson. Since then, he has appeared as Fred/Petruchio in the Community Players winter production of Kiss Me Kate.

Erica Baker (Ensemble) Erica was most recently seen as Antonia in Summer Place's Man of La Mancha. She has a strong background in classical ballet, having been a four-year company member at Salt Creek Ballet. Erica has been awarded various dance scholarships to California and has performed in The Nutcracker four years in a row.

Patrick Bell (T.L.C. Keefer) This is Pat's third Summer Place production this year, having already appeared in Diary of Anne Frank and Man of La Mancha. Pat has also appeared in The Crucible, Oliver, Arabian Nights and Fools. He is now rehearsing as Arthur in the Illinois All-State show, The Legend of King Arthur.

Adam Budny (Ensemble) Adam is no stranger to the Summer Place stage, as this production marks his third. A sophomore at WVHS, Adam is interested in the graphic arts, choral music and acting.

Matt Budny (Waiter/Ensemble) This is Matt's fifth appearance with Summer Place, most recently in the role of Anselmo in Man of La Mancha. He is pursuing a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre at St. Mary's University, Minnesota.

Roger Budny (Footman) This is Roger's third appearance with Summer Place, most recently having performed the role of Sancho in Man of La Mancha. He wishes to thank his "Dulcinea" for the support she has given "her men" this season.

Beth Buffington (Mrs. Sylvia Potter-Porter) This is Beth's first appearance with Summer Place. She was last seen in the Community Players' productions of Kiss Me Kate and The Dining Room. Beth is a Graphic Designer who is sharing the stage with her daughter, Emily.

Emily Buffington (Ensemble) This is Emily's debut with the theatre stage. Emily is 8 years old and enjoys playing the piano, ballet and is looking forward to singing with The Young Naperville Singers this fall.

Beau Ashton Butherus (Little Jake) Beau has previously appeared at Summer Place in Peter Pan, Heidi, and The Nerd. Beau has most recently appeared as Tom of Warwick in Camelot at Pheasant Run. Other productions Beau has appeared in include: Pippin, The Christmas Schooner, A Christmas Carol, Oliver! Gypsy, and The House of Martin Guerre Workshop.

Tami Carlson (Mrs. Pierpont Clay) Tami performs with the Hinsdale Covenant Handbell Choir, working under the direction of Lee McGinty. She is area manager for The Home Economist Specialty Food Stores. This is her debut performance with The Summer Place.

Parvesh Singh Cheena (Porter/Ensemble) Parvesh likes to make people smile and hopes you enjoy his performances at Summer Place as well as at his high school theatre, Waubonsie Valley.

Amy Choate (Ensemble) Amy is very excited to be performing in her second Summer Place production. She has graced the Waubonsie stage numerous times, but her favorite role has definitely been The Mute in The Fantasticks.

Pamela DeBraal (Minnie) Pam most recently performed as Rosie in the Downers Grove South High School production of Bye Bye Birdie. She was a member of the Madrigal Singers, a select singing group representing the high school. She will be attending the University of Missouri this fall.

Greg Dvorak (Iron Tail) Greg previously appeared in the Summer Place production of The Music Man. He has also appeared in The King and I, Oklahoma, South Pacific, Anything Goes, Meet Me In St. Louis and Grease. Greg will be attending Illinois Wesleyan University for Music Theater.

Kathleen Fanning (Ensemble) Kathleen was last seen in Summer Place's Guys and Dolls as a Hot Box Doll and Dancer. Other favorite roles include Annie in Ball State University's production of Chicago, Sister in Damn Yankees, Ursula Merick in Bye Bye Birdie and Gwendolyn Pidgeon in The Odd Couple.

Patricia Gascon (Running Deer) Patricia teaches ballroom, wedding, choreography, ballet, tap and jazz. Her favorite dance role is "Dream Laurey" in Oklahoma. This is her Summer Place debut.

Corin Grant (Second Boy) Corin has played the littlest lost boy to his mother Cynthia's Peter in the Naperville Park District production of Peter Pan. He has also marched in Summer Place's Mission Band in Guys and Dolls and the Boys' Band in The Music Man. Corin and his mother perform together as "Me 'N' C", a musical variety duet.

Lisa Harding (Mrs. Black Tooth/Mrs. Ernest Henderson) Lisa has previously appeared as Antonia in Man of La Mancha, as Catherine in Pippin and as Sister Mary Leo in Nunsense. By day, she is a Middle School principal.

Rudy Hetzer (Little Boy) Rudy was cast in his first play at the age of seven, and he loves to act. The five plays he has appeared in were all great experiences!

Chris Hickman (Mr. Ernest Henderson) Chris has enjoyed performing in several community productions, including: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Fiddler On The Roof, and Cabaret. This is his third production with The Summer Place.

Cynthia Katz (Mrs. Yellow Foot/Mrs. Percy Ferguson) Once a theater major at the University of Michigan, Cynthia became a founding member of a community theater company in Longwood, Florida. She has performed in The Killing of Sister George, Oliver!, Annie and Chicago, and was assistant director for You're A Good Man Charlie Brown and The Boyfriend.

Tim Lamberty (Jessie) Tim is happy to be performing his first show at the Summer Place. This is his second time performing this character. He has performed in many community theaters as well as professional.

Cynthia Lauren-Grant (Dolly Tate) For the past two summers Cynthia has either marched in our Mission Band in Guys and Dolls, with her son Corin, or played Eulalie MacKecknie Shinn in our production of The Music Man. She and Corin have also been seen together in Tempo Players' The Emperor's New Clothes and Annie.

Garth Lawson (Yellow Foot/Dr. Percy Ferguson) This is Garth's third season at the Summer Place. He has played the Barber in Born Yesterday and a Disciple in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Terry Locke (Mr. Schuyler Adams) Terry is pleased to be working in his second Summer Place production this year. He played Mr. Kraler in The Diary of Anne Frank and most recently appeared in Dead Ringer at Theatre of Western Springs.

Robert Maher (Chief Sitting Bull) Robert returns to the Summer Place stage after 15 years of pursuing other interests. He last appeared in Ah, Wilderness and before that as the Stage Manager in Thornton Wilder's Our Town.

George Marino (Mac) George is a mathematics teacher at Proviso West High School. He sings the Pythagorean Theorem and in Summer Place musicals.

Maribeth McCauley (Ensemble) Maribeth performed in last year's Guys and Dolls with Summer Place. This past year, she has performed in Snow White, the Ballet and in The Red Shoes. Maribeth would like to thank Mrs. Barbara Yokom, the founder of The School of Performing Arts, for her constant and endless support, and for the opportunity to "Build a Dream".

Larissa Meier (Nellie) Larissa most recently appeared in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Her favorite role ever was Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Her other credits include Hansel and Gretel, Heidi, The Music Man and Annie Get Your Gun with the Fox Country Players.

Paul Mullen (Foster Wilson) Paul last appeared on the Summer Place stage at the age of 15 in the 1986 production of Fiddler on the Roof. More recently, he played Chris in Miss Saigon this morning in the shower. By day, Paul is completing his doctoral residency in Clinical Psychology at Linden Oaks Hospital.

Wade Pacak (Indian Boy) Wade really loves to act and has been in four plays.

Tom Pfeil (Buffalo Bill) Tom was recently seen in Oklahoma with the Limelight Theatre Guild. In September, Tom will be appearing in Neil Simon's Broadway Bound at the Theatre of Western Springs. Tom wants to thank Jan and the entire cast and staff for making his Summer Place debut a lot of FUN.

Thomas Rieser (Charlie Davenport) Tom began his musical theatre experience with this very show thirty seasons ago. He says it may be time to retire, but before he does he wants to thank G, M&D, J, T, A, JB, R&C, S, GP, DQ, MW, JA&G, JLN, TWA, ATCO, TMS, TWS, MST, and The Summer Place.

Yuval Sharon (Pawnee Bill's Messenger/Ensemble) Among Yuval's favorite roles are Danny in I Can Do That!, Eddie McCuen in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, and Cherdyakov in The Good Doctor. Yuval will be a senior next year at NCHS and will be serving as president of Theatre Central.

Stephanie Schweitzer (Ensemble) Stephanie has worked extensively with Only a Stage, Inc. in Naperville and has appeared as Kim in Bye Bye Birdie, in Oklahoma, and most recently as Amber Preddington in the original show I Can Do That!

Sarah Sorrentino (Ensemble) Sarah has been interested in theatre her whole life and dancing for 13 years. She most recently appeared in The Mystery of Edwin Drood and in Only A Stage's Oklahoma. She is hoping to pursue a theatre career.

Alex Valdez (Ensemble) Alex is excited to be a part of his first Summer Place production. A June graduate of Batavia High School, his favorite roles include Judge Omar Gaffney in Hello Dolly, Tommy Albright in Brigadoon.

Aveline Valvano (Ensemble) Aveline is thrilled to be performing in her fourth season with The Summer Place. She performed in last summer's production of Guys and Dolls. A 1995 graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School, she now attends the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
