Belinda just graduated from Illinois State University with a theatre minor and a broadcast major. She works at WKKD in Aurora. Among her favorite characters she has interpreted are Moretta in The Rover and Alma in Bus Stop. John Corona (Tartuffe) John is humbled to the point of trembling at the prospect of actually performing the role of Tartuffe. He is a lover of classical theatre in general and Shakespeare in particular (and is an annual visitor to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario.) He lists the usual industrial, summer stock, dinner theatre and community theatre credits—including the role of Willum in the Summer Place’s The Nerd, directed by Craig Gustafson. Dan Forsythe (Damis) Tartuffe is Dan’s second appearance on the Summer Place stage, the first being Tom Sawyer in Big River. Dan is a drama major at the University of Dallas, and plans to pursue a career in the theatre. Dan has recently appeared as Messer Nicia in Mandragola, the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland and Fagin in Oliver. This is perhaps the first production in which Dan has been cast in a role that matches his age. Adam George (Officer/Stage Manager) Adam has appeared earlier this season as Pedro in Man of La Mancha. He has had other roles in the Chicagoland area, such as Sam Byck in Assassins, Frank Foster in How the Other Half Loves and Father Jack in Dancing at Lughnasa. He has also written and directed plays in the area and hopes to study directing next year. Larry Lipskie (Loyal) Larry has appeared in numerous Summer Place roles, including Jonathan in Arsenic and Old Lace, Father Dewhurst in Angels Fall, W.O. Gant in Look Homeward Angel and Inspector Rough in Angel Street. He is a computer software engineer at Lucent Technologies. Candice Michel (Dorine) Candice is very pleased to be appearing in another Summer Place production and is delighted with the challenge of Molier. Acting in various venues since the age of twelve in Pittsburgh, Honolulu, San Diego and Los Angeles. This is her fourth production since moving to the Chicago area a year ago. Her hobbies include grown daughter Bethany, two dogs (Boris and Whiskey) and serious gardening. Barbara Nikodem (Elmire) Barbara is thrilled to be making her debut with the Summer Place. A native of Toledo, Ohio, Barb has a degree in theatre from Bowling Green State University. Since moving to the Chicago area, she has enjoyed appearing in Cabots at the Albright Theatre in Batavia and Love’s Labors Lost with Oak Park’s August Ensemble. Barbara wishes to thank everyone in Tartuffe for such a fun time! Jim Quan (Cleante) This is Jim’s first appearance at Summer Place. He was last seen as Axel in Wheaton Drama’s The Nerd. Over the years, he has had roles in Rumors (Ken), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Marcus Lycus), The Good Doctor (Narrator), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Demetrius) and many others. Jim studied improvisational comedy at the Players Workshop and is a graduate of the Second City Training Center. He lives in Schaumburg with his wife, Kate. Bonnie Ravetto (Pernelle) Bonnie is pleased to be working with such great people at the Summer Place. Favorite roles at other community theatres include Helga ten Dorp in Deathtrap, Felicity in Shadow Box and Bev Davies in Graceland. Steve Schroeder (Orgon) Steve is excited to be making his debut on the Summer Place stage—you only heard him last summer as the voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors. In between Audrey II and Orgon, Steve appeared in The Nerd (Waldgrave), Assassins (Booth), They’re Playing Our Song (Ensemble/Dance Captain), Camelot (Pellinore), and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Schroeder). Steve dedicates his performance to his dad, and assures him that at no time did he use him as a model for Orgon. Michael Sullivan (Valere) This is Mike’s third appearance at the Summer Place, having been seen in Evita and My Emperor’s New Clothes. Mike has appeared in La Boheme, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Guys and Dolls and The Sound of Music. He is a Music Engineering Technology major. Marjorie Weitzenfeld (Mariane) A committed actress, Margie has played numerous parts. Her favorite roles include Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Squeaky Fromme in Assassins. She also does voice-over work for Good ’n Plenty. Margie lovingly dedicates her debut performance at the Summer Place to her mother. Craig Gustafson (Director) Craig loves to do things twice; he has directed The Nerd and The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 for the Summer Place. For Wheaton Drama, he directed The Nerd last year and will be directing Murders this November. He is working on a method of cloning his redheaded girlfriend. Other upcoming directing assignments: Red, Hot and Cole for a new professional company and Moon Over the Brewery for Village Theatre Guild. Choice for Most Romantic Song: either Everybody Loves Somebody or Green Acres. Craig Mahlstedt (Producer) Craig has been involved with the Summer Place since 1977 as director, actor and board member. He lives in Naperville with his wife Jan and son Curtis. He is delighted to see the theatre “tackle” a classic comedy.
